The filler metals I use are primarily Hobart. I use 7018 XLM, and the slag removal is extremely easy to remove; if it doesn’t just fall off on its own. I also use XLR8, which is a self-shielded wire. Your parameters can be a volt or two volts off and it still runs, it still welds beautifully. The Hobart filler metals are the best consumables money can buy.
