ITW Welding Technology Center to Host Second Annual Welding, Heating & Cutting Technology Conference

TROY, Ohio. July 10, 2015— The ITW Welding Technology Center will host the second annual Welding, Heating & Cutting Technology Conference in Houston on Aug. 26-27, 2015. This free event will feature educational seminars, panel discussions, live demonstrations, facility tours and networking opportunities aimed at discovering ways to generate greater profitability and improved operational efficiencies.

Located at 15331 Vantage Parkway East in Houston, the conference runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days at the center, and is sponsored by Miller in conjunction with Hobart Filler Metals, Magnaflux and E.H. Educational seminars during the two-day event will highlight the following topics.

Wednesday:

-How Weld Process Choice Impacts Your Bottom Line – Presented by Charlie Ribardo of BP

-The Right Tool for the Job – Presented by Mike Lang of Fluor

Thursday:

-Removing the Barriers to First-Time Quality – Presented by Ron Richter and Paul Marks of Houston Metallurgical Lab

-Your Weld is Only as Good as Your Heat Treatment – Presented by Richard Holdren and Jim Walker of ARC Specialties

Those encouraged to attend include welding engineers, research and development engineers, quality assurance managers, fleet managers, project managers, pipe shop and field managers, and others in ownership, management and supervisory positions.

The ITW Welding Technology Center is a resource for product users, regional employers and welding distributors, offering training and educational opportunities led by Miller and Hobart representatives with expertise in the latest welding, heating and cutting techniques and advancements. The facility features a large variety of Miller machines for demonstrations and training, covering the processes of MIG, TIG, flux-cored and submerged arc welding, plasma cutting and induction heating. Training focuses on processes and techniques used in the oil and gas industry.
