Hobart Brothers Company to Feature Latest Filler Metals, Live Demos at CONEXPO/CON-AGG 2014

By: Hobart Brothers

TROY, Ohio. January 8, 2013 — Hobart Brothers Company will attend CONEXPO/CON-AGG 2014 in Las Vegas, March 4 to 8, sharing booth 3586 with Miller Electric Mfg. Co. In addition to showcasing the newest filler metals for the construction, pipe and heavy equipment manufacturing markets, the company will also be hosting live welding demonstrations. Visitors will have an opportunity to weld with new filler metals, as well as to meet with Hobart representatives to receive product recommendations and/or have their welding questions answered.

Hobart Element Family

New products to be displayed and demoed at the show include the following. In addition, Hobart Brothers will display multiple hardfacing wires and stick electrodes at the show.

Hobart® Element™ family of low manganese wires: These gas-shielded flux-cored wires feature the lowest manganese levels of any similarly classified filler metal in the marketplace, helping companies address compliance with environmental regulations. They also provide consistent performance to ensure welding operators maintain high levels of quality and productivity.

• Hobart 610 stick electrodes: Designed for construction and pipe applications, this new stick electrode provides quick arc starting, excellent arc stability and superior arc drive, making them easy to operate and achieve consistent weld quality.

• Hobart MEGAFIL® seamless gas-shielded flux-cored and metal-cored wires: The unique seamless design of these tubular wires resists moisture pickup and, with it, reduces the risk of hydrogen-induced cracking. Featuring hydrogen content under 4ml per 100g of weldment and robust mechanical properties, the MEGAFIL products also have a uniform shape to ensure smooth wire feeding and can withstand extreme environments.

Hobart FabCO® 712M gas-shielded flux-cored wires: Formulated to provide exceptional mechanical toughness properties at lower temperatures in both the as-welded and post weld heat treat conditions, these all-position wires also feature low hydrogen levels to help minimize the opportunity for cracking and its associated rework.
