Hobart Wire Helps Manufacturer Improve Productivity, Reduce Costs
Weldall, a manufacturer serving industries ranging from construction to power generation and mining, gained greater productivity and reduced costs by converting to FabCO® 712M flux-cored wire. The wire provides good fusion, low spatter, and operates faster and smoother than Weldall’s previous wire, helping this job shop meet the specifications and codes often required by its customers. Backed by Hobart customer service support, the company has been able to meet special requirements for wire lot orders and get the product they need to meet customer demands.

We’re a job shop that handles many different types of products, including power generation, wind, construction, and mining. We do whatever the customer wants and work to many different codes and specifications, including special codes and specifications from the customer themselves. We handle many different types of wires, including different types of steels, stainless steels, aluminums, and high-strength to low-strength regular steels.
The different parts and stuff change every day. They can be small or huge parts, so it’s not boring and you get to do something different every day. We use a Hobart wire, which helps us get a nice weld so the customer is happy with us. With this wire, we see better fusion and less BBs, which is a big difference.
This wire runs a little bit faster and smoother. Your settings are a bit more, so you are able to produce more wire when you’re welding, which reduces time, labor, and cost. It’s more about technique now than trying to figure out the wire itself. We’ve also found our training to be a lot smoother and easier to transition with this wire.
It is important to have the right vendor for your consumables because if you don’t have the product, you can’t produce the parts. It’s very important that what you need is a phone call away and is available. We sometimes order special lots and it’s nice to be able to get numerous skids of wire with certain lots that some of our customers require us to have one lot number for the entire job.
We’ve never had any trouble with the manufacturer. Our customers expect good service and a quality product, and when we buy our wires, we expect the same thing.
