Hobart Helps Manufacturer Switch to Metal-Cored Wire
Hobart worked with Webster Industries to assess its welding processes and convert the company to metal-cored wire. The result? Better quality. The Hobart® FabCOR® metal-cored wire has helped the Tiffin, Ohio-based chain manufacturer gain better weld penetration, produce cleaner welds and minimize spatter. In addition, Webster Industries and its Hobart representatives have developed a strong partnership that helps support process improvements and address troubleshooting quickly.

We were introduced to the Fab Core 86R by one of our distributors. We’re always looking for process improvements. At that point, he brought in the Hobart representatives to look at our processes, seeing what our baselines were, making a few suggestions initially on how we could improve the process, then introducing us to the idea of changing over to the metal cord wire.
86R wire has improved our quality vastly by making better penetrating welds, making cleaner welds, less spatter. The partnership that we have with Hobart has been excellent. Anytime we have any issues, we make a phone call, and if we don’t reach the representative at that moment, we get a phone call back that day.
