Hobart Brothers Opens New Welding Training Center
TROY, Ohio. July 5, 2006–Hobart Brothers Company, a leading manufacturer of welding filler metals, has opened a new training center to address new filler metal solutions, along with safety and health practices. Located at Hobart Brothers’ plant in Troy, Ohio, the new training center uses welding power sources supplied by Miller Electric Mfg. Co., Bernard MIG guns, Weldcraft TIG torches and Smith Equipment gas regulators. Hobart Brothers’ developed the new training center to educate distributors, end-users, and employees on optimal application and use of Hobart Brothers’ filler metals, which include Hobart‚, Tri-Mark‚, Corex‚ and McKay‚ brands.
The training center offers a process and product course that covers MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, Hobart Brothers filler metal education and techniques such as hard surfacing. A typical process class lasts 3 days, includes classroom technical training and is supplemented by “hands-on” lab exercises that simulate job site applications. The course length, class size and curriculum can also be tailored to meet the needs of individual groups.
“Hobart Brothers’ new training center will allow us to educate our distributors, end-users and colleagues on the optimal application of our various filler metals and will also give us a chance to teach various welding techniques,” explains Chris Monroe, training specialist at Hobart Brothers. “The training center will be comprised of five booths, with classroom sizes limited to approximately 15 people to ensure plenty of one-on-one time between instructors and students.”
