Hobart Brothers to Attend MINExpo International 2008

TROY, Ohio.  June 23, 2008-Hobart Brothers will showcase its welding filler metals at MINExpo International 2008 in Las Vegas, September 22 to 24 at Booth 7991.  Featured products have been selected based on their ability to improve welding performance and productivity on mining equipment repairs and fabrication, and include stick electrodes, flux-cored wires, metal-cored wires, and hard surfacing products.

The Hobart® 418 mild steel stick electrode is designed to provide excellent arc starting and re-striking capabilities, along with minimal spatter and easy-to-remove slag.

The Hardalloy® 118 hard surfacing stick electrode provides excellent wear resistance under heavy impact conditions and is used for the build-up and joining of austenitic manganese steels. The Hardalloy 140 hard surfacing stick electrode offers a high chromium carbide alloy steel deposit for overlay on surfaces that are subject to high abrasion and some impact.

Fabshield® XLR-8 self-shielded flux-cored wire is ideal for vertical-up welds at high current levels and offers excellent slag removal and high-impact strength at low temperatures.

Excel Arc 71 all-position gas-shielded flux-cored wire features low spatter levels and easy-to-remove slag. This wire is available in many diameters and packages, and is useable with 100-percent CO2 or a 75/25 Argon/ CO2 shielding gas mixture.

Metalloy® Vantage and Metalloy 76 metal-cored wires both offer very low spatter levels to save time prior to painting or plating, along with higher deposition rates and faster travel speeds than solid wires.

VertiWear® (600 or AP) hard surfacing wires are used to restore or protect equipment surfaces through build-up and/or overlay.  These wires are designed for a range of impact and abrasion resistance.

Tube-Alloy® AP-O hard surfacing wires are designed for build-up and overlay on austenitic manganese steel and for welding on carbon and/or low alloy steels, and Tube-Alloy 240-O hard surfacing wires can be used to hard surface components subject to severe abrasive wear and heavy impact.
