Hobart Brothers and Hobart Food Equipment Group Receive Grant to Help Lincoln Community Center
TROY, Ohio. January 13, 2007—Today, Hobart Brothers and Hobart Food Equipment Group announced they have received a $150,000 grant from their parent company ITW (Illinois Tool Works) to help renovate portions of the Lincoln Community Center (LCC) in Troy. The LCC will use the grant to purchase and install a new floor for its basketball court and to remodel its existing restroom facilities. Renovations will begin mid-January and will last six to eight weeks.
The LCC has served as a center of recreational, social, educational, civic and family oriented activities for Troy residents since 1924. The LCC provides services for all age groups and especially takes pride in its investment in the youth of Troy.
“This grant is very significant to the Lincoln Community Center,” says Stephen Lucas, human resources director, ITW Welding Products Group. “We hope that this grant will help the Lincoln Community Center continue to achieve their mission of serving the Troy community.”
A number of Hobart Brothers’ employees are active LCC participants, volunteers and LCC board members. As a result, Hobart Brothers and Hobart Food Equipment Group joined forces and requested a grant from ITW in the fall of 2006 to assist the LCC with some much needed improvements. “ITW is a very charitable company and encourages each of its individual businesses to be involved in their local communities and support local organizations.” adds Lucas.
Throughout the renovation, some programs may be temporarily postponed or rescheduled. Any questions regarding schedule changes should be directed to Alphas Wicker, executive director, Lincoln Community Center at (937) 335-2715.
