BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - REGION OH/IN/KY/TN

Hobart Brothers Company, an Illinois Tool Works Fortune 500 business, is a recognized leader among welding manufacturers worldwide.  We are seeking a Business Development Manager.

The Primary purpose of this job is to serve as a Business Development Manager (BDM) to develop and implement improvement potential methodology while promoting value-added welding solutions to the heavy equipment segment with emphasis on process rather than product.  Provide sales and technical support for key existing customers and generating incremental sales from targeted end-users.  The BDM will work closely with Regional District Manager personnel and Distribution channels.

Job Requirements:

  • Comprehensive understanding of issues and trends affecting large manufacturing end-users.
  • Maintains relationships with key existing customers and develops relationships with prospective end-users.
  • Develops / implements comprehensive action plans to aggressively grow business within existing and/or prospective customers.
  • Reporting on progress of objectives/target accounts/projects must be maintained through the use of salesforce.com.
  • Ability to make presentations on total process cost and/or productivity improvement opportunities at a mid to senior management level. Also must be able to communicate effectively with shop floor personnel.
  • Ability to management welding process conversion implementation issues (i.e., training, logistics, distribution liaison, risk management, etc).
  • Ability to provide written "Voice of the Customer" surveys through listening and understanding end-users unmet needs.
  • Must have an excellent understanding of welding products and processes. Ability to demonstrate product/process solutions features and benefits.
  • Must be able to travel 50% of the time.

Seeking a results oriented sales or marketing individual with a prospective record of target account selling and achievement in exceeding sales objectives.  Candidate must possess the ability to lead new business development and value-added solution selling efforts utilizing a productivity improvement methodology.  While forging strong business relations, the candidate must also have the ability to identify, document and communicate unmet customer needs; keys to new product development efforts.  Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or marketing; or related technical field with sales experience.  Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.  Experience in industrial product sales preferred.  Practical understanding of manufacturing, production, welding, or automation processes a plus.
