Fabshield 21B Minimizes Clean Up, Maximizes Portability

TROY, Ohio. January 8, 2007—To ease post-weld cleanup and increase portability, Hobart Brothers offers its Hobart® Fabshield® 21B self-shielded flux-cored wire. Designed for general purpose welding, light fabrication and for use on non-critical applications, Fabshield 21B wire provides excellent performance on fillet and lap welds on galvanized or mild steels measuring up to 3/4 inch thick.  It also works well on lightly primered steels.

Fabshield 21B wire increases operator convenience and welding portability since it requires no external shielding gas.  The wire produces a smooth spray-like transfer that produces low spatter levels with excellent bead appearances in all welding positions and can be used with a variety of power sources and using DCEN.

“This is a great general purpose wire that’s easy to use,” says Keith Packard, tubular wire product manager, Hobart Brothers. “Fabshield 21B is an excellent choice for quick repairs or light fabrication jobs and you don’t need to worry about shielding gas at your work site.”

Hobart Brothers offers Fabshield 21B in .045-, 1/16-, .068-, 5/64- and 3/32-inch diameters on 10- or 33-lb spools. For higher volume applications, Hobart Brothers also offers the 1/16-inch diameter Fabshield 21B wire in 50-lb coils.
