Wire Provides High Impact Weld Toughness For All Position Welding
TROY, Ohio. June 22, 2005 – To meet the demanding specifications of shipbuilding and offshore oil construction applications, Hobart Brothers introduces FabCO® 81K2-C flux cored wire. FabCO81K2-C uses 100 percent carbon dioxide shielding gas and produces stable arc transfers in all positions. FabCO 81K2-C is available in wire diameters ranging from .045- to 1/16- inch to meet a variety of application thicknesses.
Durability, Increased Productivity and Cost Savings
FabCO 81K2-C provides high tensile strength weld deposits with low temperature weld metal toughness. Typical Charpy V-Notch impacts average 91 ft-lbs (123 Joules) at -40 degrees Fahreneit (-40 degrees Celsius). With it’s low diffusible hydrogen weld deposits, FabCO 81K2-C is particularly well suited for shipbuilding and offshore oil construction applications requiring higher strength weld properties. FabCO 81K2-C produces low spatter levels, which reduces post-weld cleanup time, while increasing productivity and cost savings. The smooth stable arc and fast freezing slag provide superior welding performance and eliminates defects caused by weld discontinuities.
