Quality of Life

Hobart Brothers Company has Ohio manufacturing facilities in Troy and Piqua.

Troy and Piqua are unique, charming communities, each with approximately 20,000 residents. They are located in area with a reputation for friendliness and hospitality and a great pride in history.

Located in southwestern Ohio, Troy is 70 miles or 110 kilometers north of Cincinnati, 70 miles or 200 kilometers east of Indianapolis and a short 15-minute drive from Dayton.

Piqua is situated about 30 miles north of Dayton and 85 miles north of Cincinnati.

Schools

Troy has an outstanding public school system serving 5,000 students through six public elementary schools, four private schools, a junior high school, a high school and a vocational school.

Piqua has seven public elementary schools, two private schools, a junior high school, a high school, a voacational school and a community college.

Over the past 10 years, private schools have been expanding and adding grade levels.

Located in Piqua, just seven miles north of Troy, The Upper Valley Joint Vocational (JVS) provides in-school or on-site training to support business and industry. Several other workforce training centers are within easy commuting distance from Troy and Piqua.

Serving both communities, Riverside is county-wide school for the developmentally disabled of various ages. Its sister program, RT Industries, provides job opportunities and training for people with disabilities.

Edison Community College, also in Piqua, offers two-year degree programs and an active "business and industry center" to support the training needs of area business.

Community colleges, universities and post-graduate schools within the region include Antioch College, Central State University, Miami University, Ohio Northern University, Ohio State University, Sinclair Community College, University of Cincinnati, University of Dayton, Urbana College, Wright State University, and Wilberforce University.
